Located in the Guangdong Province of China, the Performance Fibers (Kaiping) Company
Limited plant produces DSP® fibers for tire reinforcement, automotive
and other industrial and consumer uses.
The 820,000 sq. ft. plant is situated on over 23 acres of land. The plant was commissioned
in 1993 and has 800 employees. In 1999, the plant received ISO 9002 certification
and DSP® production began. In October 2005, Performance Fibers acquired
full ownership of the Kaiping operations from its joint venture partner.
Over the past four years, the company has expanded operations to meet demand from
China’s growing automotive tire industry, more than tripling overall capacity.
